Graincorp Pinkenba Multi-purpose Bulk Storage Facility

The inaugural project for the Spantech Pinkenba 370 profile

GrainCorp operate the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia with more than 150 regional receiver sites and 20 million metric tonnes of storage capacity.

In 2004 Spantech significantly added to the network capacity delivering the Pinkenba Multi-Purpose Bulk Storage Facility to store urea, grain or associated bulk products.

This was the first building to use the Spantech 370 Series Panel. The roof height allows semi-trailers to tip directly inside the structure. A centre dividing curtain and concrete nib wall allows segregation of materials or grades of materials.

Reasearch and development grant

The project was generously supported by AusIndustry and the Australian Government through a research and development grant to develop the Pinkenba 370 system.
