Discovery Christian College
SPORTS CENTRE and shaded lunch AREA
Spantech was contracted to design and construct the Spantech Covered Area and a small Lunch Shade Cover in the centre of the school.
The Spantech covered area brings a new dimension of opportunity to Discovery Christian College and the broader community. It provides for a variety of ball games and a parade, gathering and general play area. These sports and gatherings can now be undertaken without the worry of rain or sun but still with the breathtaking mountain views.
The building has been designed to be enclosed in the future. The building has enough space at the western end to include a large performance stage. Outside the current envelope to the north there is a level area for a future skillion roofed annex that can house amenities, sports equipment storage space and the like.
LISTEN, MAKE IT EASY, DELIVER
The project superintendent that assisted the College was McLellan Bush Architects, a Brisbane-based practice that specialises in school projects.
Architect Natalie Bush and the team at McLellan Bush lived up to their corporate vision: ‘Listen, make it easy, deliver’.
